The Mindanao State University at Tawi-Tawi concluded it's 43rd Commencement Exercises last March 30, 2015 at the Henry V. Kong Gymnasium, Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. This year's commencement exercises is very commendable since a lad from Tandubas, Tawi-Tawi graduated Summa Cum Laude of the BSED Mathematics Class 2015. Mr. ALJEMEDIN SAKILAN JAUDINEZ, 19 obtained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 1.16 that made him as the first Summa Cum Laude of the College of Education, the Second Summa Cum Laude of MSU Tawi-Tawi after Prof. Basil V. Sali in the entire 46-year history of MSU Tawi-Tawi and the third Moro Summa Cum Laude in the entire 53-year history of MSU System. This achievement is atypical in MSU Tawi-Tawi since there is no alumni yet who graduated Magna Cum Laude in the BSED Mathematics program though there were some who graduated Cum Laude in the previous years. But this young man made history for graduating not just Magna but Summa Cum Laude. Mr. Jaudinez also received other prestigious awards such as University Leadership Award, Most Outstanding Student of the year and Most Outstanding Pre-Service Teacher. Despite being the Supreme Student Council - President and engage in many organizations in the Province of Tawi-Tawi and in the country he managed to maintain his class standing. He was also awarded as the Most Outstanding Student Leader in Tawi-Tawi last September 26, 2014 during the 41st Kamahardikaan sin Tawi-Tawi at the age of 17. He revealed in his valedictory speech that his first teacher in Mathematics was his mother who is an engineer. This young man was born on September 30, 1995 in Pag-Asa, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. He spent his grade school Baliwasan Central School in Zamboanga City until grade-5. His family decided to go back to their hometown when he reached grade-6, then he continued his studies at Panglima Biteng Central School. He then pursued his secondary education at MSU Ungus-Matata High School in Tandubas and graduated as Class Valedictorian in 2011.

There were 326 graduates celebrated their success in this year's MSU Tawi-Tawi commencement exercises. 29 of them graduated with flying colors (the highest number of graduates with honors in the history of MSU Tawi-Tawi). Aside from Mr. Jaudinez, another star of the day was a Badjao from Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi who graduated Magna Cum Laude from the BSED English Class of 2015.
